Lip Smacking Scrubs For That Perfect Pout

Dry & chapped lips need not fade your radiant smile; especially when there is a quick fix right in your very home.

Coconut Sugar Lip Scrub

Good for: All lips
Time: 20 minutes
This formula exfoliates your lips while keeping them plump and succulent. Sugar gently sloughs away dead skin while coconut butter and honey add a lip-loving moisture boost.

1 teaspoon coconut butter
1 teaspoon coconut sugar
1 teaspoon honey

On the stovetop in a small pot, melt the coconut butter over low heat. Remove the heat. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Transfer to airtight container.

To use: Apply scrub mixture to lips and massage in a circular motion for a few minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

Storage: Store in the refrigerator for 3-5 weeks, or in a cool, dry place for 2-3 weeks.

Use: Twice a week

Yogurt Lip Scrub

Good for: All lips

Almond exfoliates and provide much needed essential fatty acids to plump them, while yogurt calms and soothes. Shea butter is the perfect moisturizer for lips and doesn’t have the drying effect you get with many OTC lip scrubs.

½ teaspoon shea butter
1 teaspoon yogurt (any type of yogurt will work for this, even flavoured yogurt)
1 teaspoon ground almonds
¼ teaspoon maple syrup

Optional ingredients
Pinch ground cinnamon (plumping)
Drop peppermint oil (plumping)
Pinch ground ginger (plumping)
⅛ teaspoon sea salt (healing and cleansing)
¼ teaspoon molasses in place of syrup (mineral boost)
Use organic sugar, date or brown sugar (mineral boost; fewer chemicals)
¼ teaspoon coffee grounds (stimulating)
⅛ teaspoon ground oats (soothing)

In a small pot, melt the shea butter over low heat. Remove the heat. Remove the heat. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Transfer to airtight container.

To use: Apply scrub mixture to lips and massage in a circular motion for a few minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

Storage: 3 weeks.

Use: Twice a week
