VAUNT's Guide to Dewy Skin During Winter

VAUNT's Guide to Dewy Skin During Winter

For most of us, winters are synonymous with skin that often ends up looking dull. How do we go from dull to dewy, without pretty much bathing in moisturisers and face oils?

The strategy behind achieving hydrated, dewy-looking winter skin need not be an overcomplicated 10-step routine. It all revolves around using light layers of the right products in order to lock in moisture.

Here's our guide to healing your winter skin, and giving yourself dewy, supple skin!

Step 1: Cleanse

As important as this step is, it’s also where you could be stripping your skin off its natural oils and moisture. With dryness already being a point of concern, you want to make sure you’re using a gentle, non-foaming cleanser that cleanses your skin, but leaves the moisture and oil balance intact. Our Daisy Extract + Vit. B Face Wash is a non-foaming, non-drying creamy face wash deeply nourishes your skin and also gives you a clean base for your next steps.

Gently massage this balancing face wash and watch it do its magic!

Step 2: Hydrate

The next step is giving your skin a boost of hydration. On your damn skin, apply a few drops of a hydrating and strengthening serum - a hyaluronic acid serum works well here. Alternatively, you could also try the Multivitamin Super Hydrator - with two to three drops of application, it revives your dull, parched skin. It contains ingredients like Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid and antioxidants like Vitamin B3, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Vitamin A. The blend secures and repairs your skin and provides a super boost of hydration.

Step 3: Moisturize

No winter skincare routine is complete without moisturizing. The role of a moisturiser is to keep the moisture locked inside your skin, helping your skin look supple and healthy. Look for products with ingredients like Cica for soothing and strengthening your skin, oats for boosting the barrier, squalane for keeping your skin supple. Whether you have oily, dry or combination skin, a gentle, soothing lotion-based moisturiser - like The Calm Cream - comes in very handy this time of the year. Fun fact: The Calm Cream contains pentavitin that’s known for providing deep hydration. If you have oily skin, you can stop right here. But if you have dry or combination skin, proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Layer

Reinforce your skin’s capacity to seal in moisture with facial oils. A facial oil not only gives your skin that perfect dewy finish, it also offers an extra boost of moisturising goodness - much-needed this time of the year. If you have dry or mature skin, you can luxuriate in your rich Brazil Nut + Rosehip Face Oil

If you’re looking for facial oils for oily, acne-prone skin, you can try our light but deeply nourishing Tamanu + Cranberry Seed Face Oil! Use this as the final step of your skincare routine.

And that’s it! Four steps, and you’re on your way to having healthy, supple and glowy skin!
