How much SPF are we talking about?
For those unaware, SPF (aka Sun Protection Factor) basically means how long a sunscreen will protect you from UV rays. With that in mind, The Hybrid Sun Defence provides you with an SPF of more than 55, which can be considered to be ‘Very High Protection’.
What’s in it?
Hybrid Sun Defence Sunscreen contains four different filters to protect against UV rays. Tinosorb S is a chemical filter that absorbs both UVA and UVB rays. Uvinul A Plus absorbs UVA rays. Uvinul T150 and Titanium Dioxide are physical filters that reflect UV rays away from the skin. Octyl Salicylate is a chemical filter that prevents UV rays from penetrating the skin. All of these filters are highly stable and remain effective even after time has passed.
How to use it?
The best thing about the Hybrid Sun Defence is that it moisturises as well as protects. So those with oily, combination and acne-prone skin can skip that extra step of using a separate moisturiser and use this right after their serum.
The best way to apply this in the summer is to first cleanse and tone your face. Then apply serum. Wait for about 45 seconds till the serum has settled into the skin and then proceed with the sunscreen.
Sunscreen should be applied 20 to 30 minutes before you leave your house or expose yourself to the sun. This allows the sunscreen to fully absorb into the skin, providing maximum protection.
How much to use?
You can either go with the two-finger method or take sunscreen that’s about ¼ to ⅓ of a teaspoon or the size of a 1 rupee coin. Either spread it directly all over your face or dot the sunscreen all over, making sure you cover your neck, ears, temples and hairline. Massage the sunscreen thoroughly, ensuring it has fully absorbed into the skin.
How often to reapply?
Hybrid Sun Defence Sunscreen can be reapplied every three hours, especially after swimming, excessive sweating or towelling off. Make sure to reapply the same amount of sunscreen as you did initially, following the same application techniques.
What does the sunscreen look like on the face post-application?
First things first, the Hybrid Sun Defence DOES NOT leave a white cast! Once the sunscreen has been massaged onto your screen, it leaves you with a dewy finish, which as time passes settles into a soft matte look, regardless of your skin type and skin tone.
Is it Water-Resistant?

This means that it will remain effective even after exposure to water, making it ideal for activities such as swimming or running or anything that makes you sweat. However, it is important to reapply sunscreen every three hours, especially after towelling off or sweating.
