Cooling Cucumber, Lemon and Anti Oxidant Tea Toner
Share
The recipe combines skin-loving attributes of apple cider vinegar (which restores your skin’s pH level and is rich in vitamins A, B2, B6, C and E as well as alpha hydroxy acid) with bioflavonoid-rich lemon and an inflammation-reducing tea, making it a wonderful anti-ager toner)
Yield: About 100 grams
Time: 30 minutes (plus overnight refrigeration)
Good for: All skin types
½ cup filtered water
1 bag chamomile, green or white tea
3 cucumber slices, cut thin
2 lemon slices with rind, cut thin
⅛ cup apple cider vinegar
Method
- On the stovetop in a small pot, boil the water. Pour the water into a large glass or mug and all the teabag. Let it steep for 10 minutes, remove the tea bag and let it completely cool.
- Place the cucumber and lemon slices and cooled tea in a small jar with a lid. Seal the jar and refrigerate overnight.
- The following day, remove the cucumber and lemon slices from the tea, and all the vinegar. Close the jar and shake well.
- Using the funnel, transfer to an airtight container.
To use
Lightly moisten a cotton round and wipe over your face and neck, or spray on using a mist bottle.
Storage: Refrigerate 1-2 weeks.
Use: Twice daily
VAUNT Tip: If you don’t like apple cider vinegar, you can use less vinegar and more tea water. However, for full effect, use the whole ⅛ cup of vinegar.
