3 Cleansers You Can Make From Ingredients In Your Kitchen

Banana Cleanser

The potassium in bananas hydrate and moisturise dry skin. Vitamin A,B,C and E which are also found in bananas protect against ageing, promote the production of collagen, balance oil and fight skin-damaging oxidation. Yield: About100 grams Time: 10 minutes Skin type: Anti-aging, skin softening 2 tablespoons banana flour 1 tablespoon + 1 ½ teaspoons goat milk or soy milk 2 tablespoons lucuma powder or chickpea flour ¼ mashed banana
  • Add all ingredients to a bowl, mix well & blend.
  • Transfer to a small airtight container.
Application: Wash your face with a dime-size amount of the cleanser. Rinse completely. Storage: Store in refrigerator for 10 days to 2 weeks. You can also make a larger batch and freeze for later use. Use: Daily

Almond cleanser

Almonds are rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, which help restore moisture. By using almonds, not only do you get all its benefit properties, but it also acts like a mild exfoliate. Yield: About 100 grams Time: 15 minutes (not including time to make the tea) Skin type: Dry skin, dull skin  ⅛ cup licorice tea, prepared and cooled ¼ cup finely ground almonds 1 tablespoon goat milk or soymilk ½ tablespoon molasses
  • Add all ingredients to a blender and blend well.
  • Transfer to a small airtight container.
To use: Wash your face with a dime-size amount of clean of the cleanser. Rinse completely. Storage: Store in refrigerator for 10 days to 2 weeks. You can also make a larger batch and freeze for later use. Use: Daily

Strawberry, honey and oat cleanser

This gentle cleanser doubles up as an exfoliator for all skin types including sensitive skin types. The shredded coconut and strawberry help clear dead skin cells, while the coconut milk and honey provide lasting hydration. Yield: About 100 grams Time: 15 minutes (not including time to cook oats) Skin type: Good for all  1 tablespoon shredded coconut 2 strawberries ¼ cup precooked oats 1 tablespoon coconut milk (or green tea) 1 tablespoon honey
  • In a food processor, combine the shredded coconut and strawberries. Pulse a few times.
  • Add rest of the ingredients to the mini chop and pulse again until smooth.
  • Transfer to a small airtight container.
To use: Wash your face with a dime size amount of the cleanser. Storage: Store in refrigerator for 10 days to 2 weeks. You can also make a larger batch and freeze for later use.   Use: Daily
