2 Face Oils to Get Your Skin Through Winter

2 Face Oils to Get Your Skin Through Winter

The temperatures are dropping, and so is our skin’s ability to retain moisture. This is a particularly annoying feeling for those with dry, dehydrated skin, as your skin is likely to feel parched and papery all the time! Unchecked dryness can also lead to skin that appears dull and saggy. After all, the moisture content in our skin cells is one of the factors for plump, bouncy skin.

All these concerns, call for just one thing: FACE OIL!

Why do face oils work perfectly for winters?

Face oils help reduce water loss from the skin by acting as a barrier that sits on the topmost layer and preventing water from evaporating. Additionally, our skin’s outermost layer has some oil too, so face oils help replenish our natural oil balance and help the skin appear smoother and plumper!

Those of your with a damaged or weakened skin barrier would also stand to benefit from face oils this season, as face oils have a higher lipid content which helps strengthen your barrier!

Not sure where to find the right face oil? Luckily for you, we have not one, but TWO to choose from.

Tamanu + Cranberry Seed Face Oil

A balancing face oil ideal for oily, combination and acne-prone skin. We know, we know – an OIL for oily and acne-prone skin seems really counter-intuitive. But trust us on this one. This oil contains Tamanu Seed oil which is known for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, Cranberry Seed oil which helps minimise sun damage, fights free radicals and strengthens your skin’s barrier, Argan oil to moisturise and Tea Tree oil to control breakouts. The light texture ensures moisturising without the pore-clogging or added greasiness!

Brazil Nut + Rosehip Face Oil

Dry, dehydrated and mature skin needs something heavy duty to safeguard against the onslaught of winter. And this face oil is exactly that. The rich, luxurious texture ensures your skin is moisturised, plump and glowy all day long. It’s power-packing with Brazil Nut oil known for its deeply moisturising properties, cold-pressed Rosehip oil to improve collagen levels, Vitamin E to increase elasticity and fight free radicals, cold-pressed Sunflower and Rice Bran oils to give your skin a much-needed boost of omega fatty acids.

How to use?

In the AM: Apply a few drops after your serum and before sunscreen, onto damp skin in place of your usual moisturiser. Massage gently until the oil has been absorbed well.

In the PM: Apply as the last step of your night-time skincare routine i.e. on top of your moisturiser, to wake up with radiant, moisturised and happy skin!
